New Camera - Canon 7D!
CAMERA FUN
I upgrade to a new camera every three years. By the time the third year comes around, I’m at the upper end of camera actuations (the number of frames shot). Most people don’t realize that many (if not all) cameras have a “life expectancy” in regards to the number of frames you can shoot before the camera needs servicing.
When you shoot like I do - thousands and thousands of frames per year - the life expectancy can be much shorter than a camera that is only used on vacation or at family gatherings. Also, technology improves all the time. My *old* camera (Canon 40D), while it does an awesome job, is behind the power curve when it comes to new technology and improvements. However, it’s still an awesome backup camera - and will be used as such.
The new camera has video capabilities too. I really don’t care much about that feature, as Steve is the one who handles video when we travel, but I have a feeling I might learn to like it in some instances. Like the dogsled races! How cool it will be to not only get still shots, but movies too? I’m going to have fun playing and learning.
Here are some of my first photos with the new camera, using my 50mm lens with a shallow depth of field:
